Pirates of the Caribbean's Dead Men Tell No Tales is being released next week, and it got me thinking about real pirates from history. I wondered what they're really like and ended up on another deep dive through the internet. Here are some of the most interesting pirates I came across.

If you frequent the Annual Renaissance Pleasure Faire in Irwindale, you’ll know that they hosted their very first Renn Con this past weekend. The idea behind Renn Con was to open up the Renaissance Faire to cosplay of all types, allowing attendees to get creative. Many people went all out, and some even mashed up Renaissance Faire attire with well-known characters from all areas of pop culture. With so much room for creativity, the possibilities were endless! Since we heard about this scheduled event, we’ve been super excited to see what Renn Con 2017 would bring, and we were definitely not disappointed. Here are some of our favorites.

Renaissance fashion can seem pretty confusing at first. When I first started to look around for costumes to wear to the Renaissance Faire, I didn’t know what to pick because there were so many different looks and styles that I’ve seen and I was never exactly sure if what I was looking at was considered Renaissance or not. It turns out that there was a reason for that. People of different societal classes were only allowed to wear certain types of clothing. So I did a little more digging to make it just a tiny bit easier for the rest of you to choose an outfit for your next Renaissance Faire.

Attention, everyone! If you didn't already know, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is hitting theaters on May 5th. I already bought my ticket to see it and I can't wait. After I bought my ticket, I had Guardians of the Galaxy on the mind and thought it'd be cool to do a fun new Guardians of the Galaxy infographic. SPOILER ALERT if you haven't seen the first Guardians of the Galaxy. As you may remember, Groot sacrificed himself to save his friends at the end of the film. He was then reborn from a twig that Rocket was able to recover and now we have Baby Groot, the cutest thing ever. I thought it would be fun to reimagine the rest of the group as babies as well. A few days ago, the trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi was finally released. The amazing trailer and the fact that Star Wars Day is coming up on May 4th got me thinking about what we have in store for in December when the movie is slated to be released. So while deep diving through the interwebs, I came across some fun fan theories that I thought were pretty interesting. Today I’m going to share with you some of my favorites. WARNING! It's been over 20 years since the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers first graced US screens, but the Rangers will forever have a special place in our hearts. That's why we're beyond excited for the Power Rangers reboot that's being released on March 24th. While we're impatiently awaiting the movie release, we thought it'd be fun to take a look back at all the Power Ranger reincarnations and their different suits. From the original Might Morphin Power Rangers right up until this year's Power Rangers Ninja Steel, the Rangers have gone through 22 costume changes.

With Read Across America Day coming up, many of you might be scrambling to make lists of books for your kids to read. There are plenty of books for younger children but sometimes it's harder to come up with fun chapter books that older children might enjoy.
