Last week, I wrote a blog listing all my favorite book recommendations for kids to read during Halloween season. This week, I'm giving you all my scary book recommendations for adult Halloween books! Some of these are going to be Halloween-y or Halloween-themed, but some are also just suspenseful/scary to get you into the spooky spirit.

It's never a bad idea to encourage your child to read. Now that Halloween is coming up, why not get them into the spirit by picking out some Halloween books to get them excited about reading? Here are a few books that will be perfect for getting your little one in the Halloween spirit!

Read Across America Day is March 2nd, which is just around the corner. Read Across America Day, also known as Dr. Seuss Day, falls on Dr. Seuss birthday and is dedicated to motivate and inspire kids all across the country to read. With Read Across America Day coming up, many of you might be scrambling to make lists of books for your kids to read. I love J.K. Rowling. So, it’s no surprise that I was willing to fight the crowds on July 31st to pick out my very own copy of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Sadly, after I finally got my hands on one, I fell sick and could not begin my magical journey until a whole week later. When I finally recovered enough to feel like I could take on a 4-hour binge on reading, I picked up my new best friend, which still freshly smelled of paper and ink. Are you excited for the release of Tim Burton's Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children? I definitely am. It looks so eerie and fascinating all at once and I can’t wait to watch it! The characters that really made an impression on me were the two children in white. They really piqued my interested so after some digging around, I found out that they are the Masked Ballerinas and have telepathic powers. I thought they were so interesting that I decided to come up with a DIY costume for them that would be perfect for Halloween.
