Thanksgiving Events in Los Angeles
Turkey Trot
If that big turkey dinner makes you feel like you need to run it off, you can participate in various Turkey Trot runs through Los Angeles. Turkey Trot Los Angeles will be on the morning of Thanksgiving. Grab your silly turkey hats and run a 5k or 10k marathon with many other locals. Turkey Trots are popular in many cities, do your research and you may be able to find one you would like to participate in that is closer to you.
Community Center Food Drive
Give back by participating in the 23rd Annual Thanksgiving Day Run and Food Drive at Memorial Park in La Canada Flintridge.Through November they collect can goods to help local families in need. If you would like to run for the cause, they have a 5k run or a 1 mile run for kids on Thanksgiving morning. More information can be found by viewing their website.
Ice Skating
Starting on November 16th, you can pretend that Los Angeles is a winter wonderland by enjoying the outdoor ice skating at Pershing Square.
Hollywood Christmas Parade
On Sunday, November 26th at 5pm, if you’re in the Hollywood area be sure to check out the 86th annual Hollywood Christmas parade.Featuring Grand Marshall Dr. Oz, musical performances, various celebrity appearances, and of course, Santa.
Festival of Lights
If you’re already excited for Christmas, starting Friday November 24th you can enjoy the 25th Annual Festival of Lights at The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa. The festival of lights features 200 animated figures, appearances by Santa, horse-drawn carriage rides, elaborately decorated Christmas trees, and more festive sights.
