After two years, Los Angeles Comic Con is finally back! This year LACC moved from it's usual Fall date to December to give the planners more time to create a COVID safe environment. An extra exhibit hall was added, and ticket sales were limited to make sure attendees had plenty of room to spread out and stay safe over the weekend. My con squad and I headed out to see what the cosplay scene was like!

In Disney's newest villain prequel movie, Cruella, everyone's favorite fashionable villain serves multiple looks that are to die for! With all new looks comes all new hairstyles. One new hairstyle that caught my eye is Cruella's curly angular bob with bangs. I love the look so much I wanted to recreate it! With the return of San Diego Comic Con, it's safe to say that conventions are back! This past Thanksgiving weekend was the first ever San Diego Comic Con Special Edition. We headed down to San Diego for the weekend to see what comic con is like in a post-quarantine world and to get the latest costume news!

I've been seeing a few DIY converting Transformers Bumblebee costumes around the internet for a while now. Recently my son has been obsessed with Bumblebee from Transformers so I decided to attempt to make a costume for him. I didn't tell him I was going to make it because I didn't want to get his hopes up and end up failing miserably. I'm happy to report that my attempt ended up pretty good. This blog post if mostly just to show off my DIY converting Transformers Bumblebee costume. I did it on the fly and eyeballed everything so there are no measurements. When I created this Self-Quarantining with Kids series, I started off with Questions to Ask Kids While Quarantined. One of the questions I asked my daughter was If you could have any superpower, what would you pick and why? Her answer was "I want ice powers like Elsa and fire powers like Sailor Mars because it will be so fun!" So that gave me an idea. I thought it would be fun to dress up and give my kids superhero powers (through the power of Photoshop, of course).

She knows all of Taylor Swift's songs and every time a new video is released, she falls in love with her outfits and asks if she can have the same looks. So since my daughter happens to have a few Taylor Swift costumes and we're looking for activities to do while self-quarantining and social distancing, I decided it would be fun to do a Taylor Swift photo shoot!

To celebrate Valentine's Day, this year I decided to get crafty! After years of seeing many people make playing card ruffs on Pinterest I wanted to try it myself. In the end I came up with an entire Queen of Hearts inspired beauty look that would go great with a Queen of Hearts costume!

Now that summer con season is wrapping up and the biggest cons are behind us, it's becoming harder to find virtual ways to get your costume fix.
