Summer is officially here so it's time to have some fun! Con season is in full swing, so if you're in the Los Angeles area, you're bound to find some fun events that allow you to dress up in costume!

March is here and 2018 is flying by quickly! You would expect this month's round-up of costume events to only include St. Patrick's Day events, but there's so much more than that! I combed through the overload of Irish themed bar crawls to find some unique events for this month!

It's a brand new year! For this New Year's resolution, why not vow to wear costumes for more than just Halloween events! Every month this year, we vow to bring you a list of local costume and dress up events to help you achieve that goal! Here are a few January events in the Los Angeles area that deserve a click!

October 27-29th, thousands of nerds trekked to the Los Angeles Convention center for Stan Lee's Los Angeles Comic Con (formerly known as Comikaze Expo). In it's 7th year, LA Comic Con was even bigger than ever and cosplayers from all over came to show off their creations. I had the honor of attending for my 3rd year in a row with a few friends and we spent some time hunting down some of the coolest cosplays in the building to share with you!

If you've ever cosplayed or worked hard to make a screen accurate costume, then you have been in this situation before. You've worked really hard to make sure your movie costume is perfect in every way. You've spent hours researching the costume, looking for pictures with different angles, figured out how to make the different pieces, and spent weeks putting it all together. Now it's time for the finishing piece: your prop weapon. Oh no! All you can find are expensive replicas you'll have to spend hundreds of dollars on! If you don't want to spend that money, you're left with neon orange and white toy costume guns. Those aren't screen accurate at all! So what do you do? If you frequent the Annual Renaissance Pleasure Faire in Irwindale, you’ll know that they hosted their very first Renn Con this past weekend. The idea behind Renn Con was to open up the Renaissance Faire to cosplay of all types, allowing attendees to get creative. Many people went all out, and some even mashed up Renaissance Faire attire with well-known characters from all areas of pop culture. With so much room for creativity, the possibilities were endless! Since we heard about this scheduled event, we’ve been super excited to see what Renn Con 2017 would bring, and we were definitely not disappointed. Here are some of our favorites.

Once again, we’ve partnered up with our favorite local cosplayer, Mvious Cosplay, for another cosplay project. This time, he’s tackled a popular character who’s made his MCU debut in this year’s Captain America: Civil War. Using a black spandex suit, he’s created a recognizable character by making a few adjustments and matching it with store-bought costume accessories.

Have you heard? Disney is in the works of producing a Mary Poppins sequel! Not only that, Emily Blunt is rumored to be in the running to play Ms. Poppins herself. I don’t know about you, but I think Emily Blunt is the perfect actress to fill the iconic nanny’s shoes.
