Costume Events in California: July 2015
This month, two huge cosplay events take up the first half of the month. The Anime Expo is a huge Los Angeles convention that specializes in manga comics and Japanese animation. The week after is the biggest pop culture convention in California, San Diego Comic-Con. The event will span four days and will likely create a lot of buzz as it does every year. For pop culture addicts and cosplayers alike, this convention brings together some of the most enthusiastic fans for sneak peeks and first looks at some of the hottest TV and film projects.
In addition, the Hello Kitty Friendship Festival will complete its tour in California at the Oracle Arena before departing to other parts of the country. For Hello Kitty fans in Northern California, it will be your last chance to shop exclusive merchandise, see live action performances, and meet all your favorite Sanrio characters.
Lastly, for our Renaissance aficionados, you can once again do some time traveling at the Central Coast Renaissance Festival in San Luis Obispo. You’ll be able to enjoy Renaissance-themed performances and activities along with great food and drink in the midst of an Elizabethan village.
