It’s the time of year again for tricks, treats, and everything macabre. Personally, Halloween is my favorite holiday and it’s not just because it’s fun to dress up. There are tons of fun Halloween events that go on through the Halloween season in Los Angeles, and I have a few favorites I try to experience every year. I’ve compiled a list of my favorite local spooky events, in case you’re looking for fun frights this year too.

What to Wear: Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend
The Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend is taking place this weekend at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. This event takes place at the happiest place on Earth and will have a variety of events including a 10K, a 5K, kid races, the Half Marathon main event, and so much more! To learn more, be sure to visit their website.
The theme for the weekend is "To Infinity and Beyond!" So the marathon will have a theme focused on the some of your favorite Pixar films, including, of course, Toy Story. If you're at a loss for what to wear, we've put together a few ideas for you to make things easier. We made sure to include Toy Story suggestions as well as classic Disney ideas for you.

Los Angeles Events for 4th of July
It’s warming up again, we’re leaving June gloom behind us and welcoming the summer heat. That means it’s time to jump into your swim wear, grab your sunglasses, and jump into the closest body of water to cool off. The beginning of Summer also means July 4th is fast approaching, next week to be exact. If you are a SoCal resident, and haven’t already made plans for a BBQ feast with fireworks, we’ve done the research and found some pretty cool events happening in the LA area.

Renn Con 2017
If you frequent the Annual Renaissance Pleasure Faire in Irwindale, you’ll know that they hosted their very first Renn Con this past weekend. The idea behind Renn Con was to open up the Renaissance Faire to cosplay of all types, allowing attendees to get creative. Many people went all out, and some even mashed up Renaissance Faire attire with well-known characters from all areas of pop culture. With so much room for creativity, the possibilities were endless! Since we heard about this scheduled event, we’ve been super excited to see what Renn Con 2017 would bring, and we were definitely not disappointed. Here are some of our favorites.

DIY Black Panther Cosplay with Mvious Cosplay
Once again, we’ve partnered up with our favorite local cosplayer, Mvious Cosplay, for another cosplay project. This time, he’s tackled a popular character who’s made his MCU debut in this year’s Captain America: Civil War. Using a black spandex suit, he’s created a recognizable character by making a few adjustments and matching it with store-bought costume accessories.

2016 Pride Month Celebrations in California
June has been designated as LGBT Pride month to commemorate the Stonewall Riots in 1969 and the subsequent fight for equal rights for the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community. #Disneybound: 2016 Spring Dapper Day Outfits
Is anyone ready for the Spring 2016 Dapper Day? It’s going to be on May 1st this year and we can’t wait! Not familiar with Dapper Day? A group called DAPPER DAY Events organizes two gatherings a year, one in the Spring and one in the Fall, where people can get dressed in their Sunday's best and meet up at the Disneyland parks in Anaheim, Orlando, and Paris.
