Halloween is, hands down, my favorite holiday. I love the costumes, I love when the weather starts to change, and I absolutely love the decorations. 2020 has been a wild ride of a year so far and has forced many of us to get creative with how we can continue to do social activities while still practicing social distancing. Celebrating holidays such as Halloween this year will be no different. I did some brain storming for family friendly ideas to stay spooky this Halloween, hopefully one of my ideas sparks some creativity for you.

With Easter fast approaching, I wanted to come up with things that I could do with the kids at home. Originally, I was going to have all my nieces and nephews over for an Easter egg hunt and other fun activities that have now been cancelled due to social distancing. Instead, my kids are I are stuck inside and I do not want to go to the store to try to get any Easter-related items because I really want to try to only go out for things like groceries when absolutely necessary. So for my Easter at home activities, I will only use things that I have already available in my house and I hope this helps to give other people ideas for quarantined Easter activities.

So far 2020 has been kind of a big bummer. So far we've had to celebrate Easter within our homes, and I've personally had quite a few friends and family members celebrate their birthdays safely in their homes as well. Cinco de Mayo will be another holiday to add to the list of occasions that we will be adding to the list of celebrations to safely celebrate within our homes practicing social distancing. This year Cinco de Mayo will also be falling on a Tuesday, which again, is a bummer as it's a missed opportunity for an amazing 'Taco Tuesday'. If you're looking for suggestions to throw a fun and delicious Cinco de Mayo/Taco Tuesday celebration, I have a few suggestions for how to make that happen.

With parties and events being cancelled left and right due to COVID-19, it's no surprise that Halloween will look a little different this year. Normally the events list for Halloween is full of parties, haunted mazes, scary movies, and trick or treating. So what do you do when none of that is happening? Over the years, sexy Halloween costumes have become the norm. This has resulted in a social response of backlash amongst women regarding the hyper-sexualization of yet another commodity. In contrast, the sales of sexy costumes reinforced the idea amongst manufacturers that this is what consumers want. I personally believe that if the true meaning of feminism is to allow women the freedom to choose just as men seem to have the ability to do, then we should put away our wagging fingers and just enjoy the holiday.

When you've got a Halloween party to attend, chance are you want to find a unique costume that no one else in the party will have. That isn't always easy when pre-made costumes are available to everyone! St. Patrick's Day is not too far away. If you're anything like me, you love themes and any excuse to celebrate.
