With parties and events being cancelled left and right due to COVID-19, it's no surprise that Halloween will look a little different this year. Normally the events list for Halloween is full of parties, haunted mazes, scary movies, and trick or treating. So what do you do when none of that is happening? We hunted down a few LA area drive-thru Halloween events that are reinventing Halloween in a safe way for the new times that we live in. With the help of the drive-up, drive-thru, and drive-in, Halloween loves can celebrate from the comfort and safety of their own cars.

With many conventions and events being shut down due to COVID-19, events are turning to the internet to connect with fans. This month, three of the largest meetups of the year are holding digital conventions that you can stream! So tune in, grab your costume or your comfy clothes and have a mini con at home!

This Anime Expo, we were tasked with not only finding the coolest cosplays of the weekend, but also with exploring some of the con's cosplay content. AX prides itself in being a con built for cosplayers so we wanted to highlight all the special things Anime Expo has to offer attending cosplayers. For our trip to Anime Expo this year, we gave ourselves a mission. Not only would we do our usual blog covering cool cosplays at the con, but we would cover some of the cosplay events too! This year, Anime Expo debuted a new panel and event: The Street Fighter Arcade Edition Panel and Ultimate Cosplay Showdown. For the first time, Street Fighter Executive Producer, Yoshinori Ono came to Anime Expo. To celebrate, AX made the panel extra epic by combining it with a cosplay competition in this Street Fighter Ultimate Cosplay Showdown.

This Fourth of July Weekend, we headed to the Los Angeles Convention Center with over 100,000 other Anime fans for Anime Expo! Anime Expo is presented by the Society for the Promotion of Japanese Arts (SPJA), a non profit that inspires the world through Japanese pop culture, art, and music. This convention definitely achieves SPJA's goals! This 4 Day convention was PACKED with things to do. So packed that we couldn't fit everything in one blog post! Renaissance Faire season in Southern California is here! We decided to be some of the first to experience it this year and headed to opening day of The Original Renaissance Pleasure Faire here in Irwindale, California! The weather was a perfect low-70s, a huge contrast compared to the 90-degree weather we had last year! It was the perfect day to head out in layers of Renaissance-themed clothing.

Hi, I'm Amy and I'm a Comic Con newbie. We were invited to attend the annual Long Beach Comic Con this past weekend in Long Beach, CA and I didn't know what to expect. I've never really done cosplay, unless making your own Halloween costumes counts, but I do work with an avid cosplayer/Comic Con-attendee (You can see her coverage of LBCC in her article LONG BEACH COMIC CON 2019 COSPLAY RECAP) so I have heard things about Comic Con through the grape vine... or just on the internet since I don't totally live under a rock. The craziness of Halloween is winding down and we're reflecting on what an awesome time we had in October! We had the honor of attending Los Angeles Comic Con for another year to see what cool cosplays we could find. I went back for another year at my favorite small con: Long Beach Comic Con! This year, aside from vendors, panels, and comics galore, LBCC brought back fan favorites like Space Expo, the Comic Creators Conference (C3), and even live wrestling! Dressed as a mashup between the Joker and Harley Quinn, I headed to LBCC on the hunt for cool cosplays! Here's just a small selection of what I saw this year.

This past weekend we headed to the Anaheim Convention Center for WonderCon! This 3 Day event, hosted by the same people who organize San Diego Comic Con, was full of pop culture inside info! This past weekend we headed to Long Beach Comic Expo to lookout for awesome cosplay! Brought to you by the same people from Long Beach Comic Con, the Expo is a slightly smaller con than LBCC , with comics at the focus! This con may be small, but everyone still brings out their best and most fun cosplays! Despite the 50 degree weather, rain, and strong winds, LBCE was a packed con with lots of visitors and lots to see!
