Throwing a PJ Masks Birthday Party
I'll admit it. I am much too lazy to do actual invitations these days. Figuring out addresses, mailing everything out, waiting for RSVPs... I'm so over it. So I just do a Facebook event. It's so much easier. Or if you're not a Facebook user, you can always do an online invitation by email. I created my own banner for the Facebook invitation. And, yes, I replaced Gekko with my daughter in a Gekko costume, because why not?
Decorations
Now that the invitation was out of the way, it was time to start the actual planning. I didn't go too over the top with the backdrop and I wanted something easy. I ordered foil fringe curtains in blue, red, and green. I made my own simple "banner" that I just printed, cut, and taped right onto the curtain instead of stringing it up. I used a simple black table cloth for the table. I set out some PJ Masks party favor blowouts and horns on one side of the table. On the other side, I had the desserts. Instead of doing special desserts in the theme colors, I just went with whatever mini desserts I found at the store. Then I printed PJ Masks characters, cut a circle around them, and taped them to toothpicks for cupcake toppers. I also gathered up all of my daughter's PJ Masks figures and set those out as well.
Cake
I wanted to save on wherever I could so I tried to do a semi-DIY cake. I picked up a plain blue and yellow two-tiered cake from a local supermarket and added decorations of my own. I created and printed my own banner as well as the PJ Masks faces on photo paper. I cut silhouettes out of glitter paper and then I made the buildings out of a black sugar sheet and yellow cookie icing. It's not as good as a professional cake, but Evie definitely loved it!
