Photobooths have become increasingly popular at weddings. It's almost a must-have. However, they can be pretty costly. When my brother was planning his wedding last year, I volunteered to do a DIY wedding photobooth setup for him. It turned out pretty great so I wanted to share my ideas with all of you!

In Disney's newest villain prequel movie, Cruella, everyone's favorite fashionable villain serves multiple looks that are to die for! With all new looks comes all new hairstyles. One new hairstyle that caught my eye is Cruella's curly angular bob with bangs. I love the look so much I wanted to recreate it! Here's a quick and easy tutorial on how I did my own Cruella de Vil wig.

This past weekend, we celebrated my son's 4th birthday. At this point in his life, the only things he cares about is dinosaurs and Disney Cars. Since we already did a dinosaur-themed party last year, I decided to go with a Disney Cars party for this birthday. Just like for my daughter's unicorn-themed 6th birthday party, this birthday would also be celebrated at home with no visitors. However, this was not going to stop me from making it magical while still on a budget. Here are all my Disney Cars party ideas.

I've been seeing a few DIY converting Transformers Bumblebee costumes around the internet for a while now. Recently my son has been obsessed with Bumblebee from Transformers so I decided to attempt to make a costume for him. I didn't tell him I was going to make it because I didn't want to get his hopes up and end up failing miserably. I'm happy to report that my attempt ended up pretty good. This blog post if mostly just to show off my DIY converting Transformers Bumblebee costume. I did it on the fly and eyeballed everything so there are no measurements. So this is going to be less of a tutorial and more of a guide if you want to make a DIY converting Transformers Bumblebee costume of your own.

Halloween is, hands down, my favorite holiday. I love the costumes, I love when the weather starts to change, and I absolutely love the decorations. 2020 has been a wild ride of a year so far and has forced many of us to get creative with how we can continue to do social activities while still practicing social distancing. Celebrating holidays such as Halloween this year will be no different. I did some brain storming for family friendly ideas to stay spooky this Halloween, hopefully one of my ideas sparks some creativity for you.

When I realized we would be celebrating my daughter's birthday without family and friends, I still wanted to make sure to give my daughter a fun party. I didn't want her to feel like she was lacking for anything even though she wouldn't be able to celebrate with her friends and her extended family as she normally would. However, being that we would just be celebrating at home with just me, my husband, and my son, I also didn't want to spend too much money on the party. So I had to come with a way to make her party look as grand as possible without breaking the bank. So here's my ideas for a low budget quarantined birthday party.

I love dressing up for Halloween and going all out with my costume. When I decided I wanted to dress up as the Bride of Frankenstein this year, I wasn't sure how I would do her hair. I could style my own hair like her, but it would take colored hair spray because my hair is currently half green. Another option would be to buy a wig but the costume wigs don't look real enough. I usually go for realistic wigs and a realistic Bride wig can cost $300+! That's definitely way over my budget! So I set out to figure out how to make one of my own. Here's how I did a DIY Bride of Frankenstein wig.

When I created this Self-Quarantining with Kids series, I started off with Questions to Ask Kids While Quarantined. One of the questions I asked my daughter was If you could have any superpower, what would you pick and why? Her answer was "I want ice powers like Elsa and fire powers like Sailor Mars because it will be so fun!" So that gave me an idea. I thought it would be fun to dress up and give my kids superhero powers (through the power of Photoshop, of course).

With Easter fast approaching, I wanted to come up with things that I could do with the kids at home. Originally, I was going to have all my nieces and nephews over for an Easter egg hunt and other fun activities that have now been cancelled due to social distancing. Instead, my kids are I are stuck inside and I do not want to go to the store to try to get any Easter-related items because I really want to try to only go out for things like groceries when absolutely necessary. So for my Easter at home activities, I will only use things that I have already available in my house and I hope this helps to give other people ideas for quarantined Easter activities.

Because I'm working from home with two kids, sometimes my favorite parts of the day is when the kids are sleeping--nap time and bedtime. It gives me a nice little break from having to deal with multiple things at once. I can finally focus on my work without any distractions. Or I can finally take time to do something for myself, like shower, or read, or breathe. The problem is that the kids don't always go down very easily. It took me a while but I finally discovered that putting sleep masks on the kids is a game changer. I thought it would be fun if they had themed sleep masks so they would be more excited to put on their masks and get to sleep. So I'm going to make my kids character sleep masks.

So far 2020 has been kind of a big bummer. So far we've had to celebrate Easter within our homes, and I've personally had quite a few friends and family members celebrate their birthdays safely in their homes as well. Cinco de Mayo will be another holiday to add to the list of occasions that we will be adding to the list of celebrations to safely celebrate within our homes practicing social distancing. This year Cinco de Mayo will also be falling on a Tuesday, which again, is a bummer as it's a missed opportunity for an amazing 'Taco Tuesday'.
