How to Repair a Synthetic Wig

How to Repair a Synthetic WigSo last Halloween, you partied a little too hard, came home and tossed your wig aside. When you came to the next morning, your wig was just a hot mess, so you tucked it away in the back of your closet, hidden away from the light of day. Now that Halloween is coming up, you might be wishing that you could get a little more mileage out of your wig. How do you get it back to fabulous? Well, today I’m going to share with you how with some great tips on how to repair a synthetic wig! What You’ll Need:
  • Wig Brush
  • Spray Bottle
  • Water
  • Fabric Softener
Start by softly brushing the wig into place using your wig brush. Watch out for portions of the wig that are matted for volume, you don’t have to brush those section since they are a part of the design of the wig. Lay it down flat and spray a section of the wig is a mixture of equal parts water and fabric softener. After you spray, brush through the hair with your wig brush. Work through the entire wig in sections avoiding any matted sections which are supposed to be there for the style. Once you’re through, you can let it dry on a foam head which yo can find at a craft store. If you don’t have one, you can set it on a clean, flat surface. If the wig is curly, add curlers to add back the style. Do not use heat curlers or heat of any kind! You will melt the wig and probably mess up your curlers. After the wig is dried and styled, try it on and use the wig brush to comb everything into place. Before you wear it to your event, I highly recommend wearing a wig cap to get the best possible fit.
